Influenza A H4N2

H4N2 is a kind of Avian influenza virus and remains low pathogenic. In 2012, researchers isolated an H4N2 virus in quails which showed higher preference for mammalian type sialic acid receptors. This H4N2 virus transmitted better in chicken than a duck origin H4N2 virus.
